Lunch Program Overview
The school nutrition program administers the free breakfast and lunch program, where every student can enjoy breakfast and lunch at no charge. This program is available through the federal Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) and covers the full cost of serving meals at no charge to the entire district.

Akros Lunch Program
The Edge Academy/Akros Middle School/AkroTech High School announced today a change to its policy for serving meals to children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program for the 25-26 school year. Schools qualifying to operate the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) provide breakfast and lunch to all children at no charge and eliminate the collection of meal applications for free, reduced-price, and paid student meals. This new approach reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meal.
FREE HEALTH CARE: Families with children eligible for school meals may be eligible for FREE health care coverage through Medicaid and/or Ohio’s Healthy Start & Healthy Families programs. These programs include coverage for doctor visits, immunizations, physicals, prescriptions, dental, vision, mental health, substance abuse and more. Please call 1-800-324-8680 for more information or to request an application. Information can also be found on the web at http://jfs.ohio.gov/ohp/consumers/familychild.stm. Anyone who has an Ohio Medicaid card is already receiving these services.

Community Eligibility Provision
Public Release for the Community Eligibility Provision
Akros Middle School and The Edge Academy is participating in a Free Breakfast and Lunch Program for the current school year 2025-2026. This alternative is referred to as the Community Eligibility Provision. All students enrolled at the following school(s) may participate in the School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program at no charge. Household applications are not required to receive free meals, but applications may be distributed by the school to collect household income data for other programs that require this information.
All students will be served breakfast and lunch at Akros Middle School and The Edge Academy.
